Turkey’s Northern Tip: A Fairy Tale in Sinop
When you enter this peninsula with the north winds at your back, a city named SINOP will immediately captivate you with its fierce yet proud stance stretching toward the Black Sea, as if wanting to reach the opposite shore. One-Day Sinop Tour Program for July 18 and 19, 2026
Dear Guests,
We meet in Giresun at 05:00 at Alman Çeşmesi, Atapark, and Boztekke Stop.
In Ordu, we meet at 06:00 at Rus Pazarı, the Old Bus Terminal, and Teleferik Stop.
After an extra breakfast along the way, we arrive in Sinop, the city of Diogenes and the northernmost point of Anatolia, passing through the charming Black Sea districts of Bafra and Gerze. In Sinop, we set our route as the Erfelek Waterfalls. After free time at Erfelek Waterfalls Nature Park, home to 28 large and small waterfalls, we taste Erfelek chestnut candy and chocolate and, after a short shopping break, visit Hamsilos Bay, Turkey’s only fjord-type coastline, formed by the collapse of Deveci Creek, and take a photo break. After seeing Akliman Beach, we return to Sinop city center. We visit the Historic Sinop Prison, known as the “Turkish Alcatraz,” where many famous people were once imprisoned and parts of which are open to visitors. Leaving the prison, which inspired Sabahattin Ali’s lines, “Lift your head, don’t bow it, endure, my heart, endure,” we take a photo in front of the Diogenes Statue and then have lunch with the famous Sinop walnut mantı. After lunch, we visit Sinop’s handmade kotra models and Sinop Castle, and then join an optional boat tour. After seeing Sinop from another perspective, we enjoy free time at Sinop Castle Bastion and the stalls in the city center selling local handmade products. At the designated time, we return to our vehicle and begin our journey back. We drop our valued guests off at the points where we picked them up, and bid farewell with the hope of seeing you again on another PİKOLA TUR trip.
