In the morning, we arrive in KARS, known as the Paris of the East and home to many civilizations. At Kars’s Historic Bedesten (Extra), we enjoy our Open-Buffet Breakfast consisting of local Kars products. After breakfast, we visit the CAUCASUS FRONT WAR HISTORY MUSEUM, where the Sarıkamış Campaign is described. After touring the museum with our guide, we proceed to the RUINS OF ANI, listed as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. In Ani, known as the “City of 1,001 Temples,” we see the Ebul Menuçehr Mosque, the Main Cathedral, the Surp Pirgiç Church and many other historical monuments with our guide. Following the explanations, we return to Kars. At lunch, we enjoy the Flavors Unique to Kars and head to ÇILDIR LAKE, located at an altitude of 1,965 meters. We have a wonderful time on the lake with our Horse-Drawn Sledges, waiting for us with their colorful decorations, and continue our tour after sipping our tea. We visit Kars Castle (Panoramic), Kümbet Mosque, the Mausoleum of Ebul Harakani and the Ottoman Baths, then begin shopping for our must-have Kars Kashar Cheese, Gruyère Cheese and Kars Honey. After the tasting and explanations, we head to our hotel. After resting in our rooms and having dinner, guests who wish may attend the (Extra) MINSTREL DUEL & CAUCASIAN SHOWS. After an early breakfast, we go to KARS TRAIN STATION and take our seats on the EASTERN EXPRESS, which will depart at 08.00. Witnessing wonderful views amid the desolate whiteness, we take in a panoramic view of SARIKAMIŞ at the foothills of the Allahuekber Mountains, and arrive in ERZURUM at the end of the 5-hour journey. We enjoy the Cağ Kebab and Kadayıf Dolması we said we must have before leaving without eating lunch. After the meal, accompanied by our guide, we visit the Ulu Mosque from the Anatolian Seljuk period and the Twin Minaret Madrasa, and stop by the Oltu Stone workshops in TAŞHAN. After completing our city tours, we depart for the PALANDÖKEN SKI CENTER. Guests who wish may travel by chairlift to Ejder Hill at an altitude of 3,100 meters or sip their coffee in the cafés at the ski center. We meet our vehicle at the designated time and begin our return journey. Following the necessary breaks along the way, we drop our guests off at the points where we picked them up between 01.00 - 02.00 and bid farewell, saying we will see you on another PİKOLA TOUR trip.
